
Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Manushi Chhillar, Bollywood actress and Miss World 2017, celebrates her 28th birthday today. She got congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities alike. Manushi, who was born on May 14, 1997 in Rohtak, Haryana, continues to enjoy fame from modelling, but has not been able to succeed in Bollywood.
Background and Education
Manushi Gouda comes from a family that is very well educated. Her mother, Dr Neelam Chhillar, heads the Department of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences. While her father, Dr Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist with DRDO.
During her schooling, she attended St. Thomas School in New Delhi where she was the CBSE English topper in Class 12. She later went on to passing the AIPMT and NEET entrance examinations in her first attempt. She currently is pursuing an MBBS degree from Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College, Sonipat.
Apart from academics, she is a recognized Kuchipudi dancer who was trained by Raja, Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. She also enrolled in the National School of Drama to polish her acting skills.
From Miss World to Film Debut
Manushi got into the spotlight after winning Miss World in 2017, representing India after winning the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant as Miss Haryana. She became the sixth Indian to receive the Miss World crown.
In 2022, she made her Bollywood debut with ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ co-starring with Akshay Kumar. The film, despite its high budget of ₹250 crores, was a commercial failure.
