A man identified as Sahil Sharma turned himself in at the Civil Lines police station in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday. He allegedly murdered his grandmother and aunt late Thursday night by striking them with a hammer.

Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil confirmed that Sahil surrendered at around 4:30 PM, stating, “I have killed my grandmother and aunt. Their bodies are in the house.” The police found the bodies of Saroj Sharma, aged 90, and Vandana Sharma, aged 60, at the scene. Both were sent for post-mortem.

Motive Behind the Crime

According to police, initial investigation suggests Sahil was pressuring his grandmother to transfer property ownership to him and to finance an auto-rickshaw. When she refused, he allegedly committed the murders. Officials noted that Saroj Sharma’s son Narendra had passed away earlier, and only three family members were living in the house.
