Leaders of many parties including Akhilesh Yadav came out in protest against the amendment in the Waqf Board Act, know what is the stand of Congress

New Delhi: Many opposition parties have openly opposed the amendment in the Waqf Board Act. The third largest party in the Lok Sabha, SP, will also oppose the bill. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav targeted the central government by tweeting. He said that all these amendments of the Waqf Board are also just an excuse. Selling lands like defense, railways, and Nazul land is the target.

Akhilesh Yadav said that a written guarantee should be given that the lands of the Waqf Board will not be sold. The BJP is working like a real estate company. It should change its name by writing ‘land’ instead of ‘public’.

Sharad Pawar’s party also came out in protest

At the same time, NCP MP Supriya Sule of the Sharad Pawar faction said that her party will oppose this bill. The bill should be sent to the standing committee for more recommendations or a joint parliamentary committee should be formed.

RJD will also protest

RJD MP Misa Bharti said that I think all the parties of the India alliance will oppose it and RJD will also oppose it. There are many other important issues of the government but no discussion is taking place on them. Those issues should have been raised earlier.

Congress also opposed

Congress will also oppose the Waqf Act Amendment Bill. Party MP Imran Masood said that the Waqf Amendment Bill will be opposed in Parliament. Meanwhile, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said that this shows that the NDA government is against minorities. They are not in favor of secularism, or social justice. Meanwhile, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said that the government should have talked to Muslim organizations before bringing the bill. If the government’s intentions are right then the bill should be discussed first.

Rahul Gandhi held a meeting

Congress is preparing to oppose the introduction of the bill related to amendment in the law governing Wakf Boards in the Lok Sabha. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi called a meeting of Congress MPs on Thursday morning before the start of the House proceedings, in which the Wakf Bill was discussed along with many other topics. Congress MPs KC Venugopal and Hibi Eden gave notice under Rule 72 to oppose the introduction of the bill in the Lok Sabha.

Sources said Eden has said in his notice that he opposes the introduction of the bill as it is “unconstitutional”. Let us tell you that the government is going to introduce the ‘Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024’ and ‘Muslim Waqf (Repeal) Bill, 2024’ in the lower house on Thursday.
