Kartik Aaryan’s private life is already the subject of social media gossip, and this time it is his Aashiqui co-star Sreeleela who has become the center of attention. It all started when she was spotted at a family event with Kartik. Things got more exciting when his mother, Mala Tiwari, made some remarks during the IIFA 2025 event.
During the event, Karan Johar posed a question to Kartik’s mom asking what daughter-in-law the family would want. While the crowd responded with Ananya Panday, she remarked, "The family’s demand is a very good doctor". Kartik interjected quickly and said that his mom actually wanted a doctor and wasn't referring to anyone specific. Fans however didn’t buy that explanation.

As soon as the video went viral, people flocked to the comments section. One user wrote, "Jodi salamat rahe," while someone else responded with, “she has been saying since years she wants a doctor daughter in law.”
Who is Sreeleela?
Sreeleela is an actress who predominantly works in Kannada and Telugu cinema. She began acting as a child and later starred in the movies Kiss, Pelli SandaD, Dhamaka, and Bhagavanth Kesari. Apart from these films, she had a special role in Pushpa 2 and has won 3 South Indian International Movie Awards.
What is intriguing about her relation to Kartik's mother's statement is that she is also a physician. She earned her MBBS in 2021. Sreeleela was born in the United States but moved to Bangalore for her schooling. Her mother, Swarnalatha, is a gynecologist, and Sreeleela aspired to be a doctor prior to her acting career. This has led many fans to believe that Kartik's mother was, in fact, referring to Sreeleela.
Kartik’s Relationship History and the Kapil Sharma Teasing
Kartik has kept his love life private, but he has been romantically linked to multiple Bollywood divas. There were claims that he was in a brief relationship with Sara Ali Khan, but that rumor seemingly faded. He’s also been rumored to have affairs with Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.
Kartik received some friendly mocking regarding his romantic life on The Great Indian Kapil Show. In one of the rounds, Vidya Balan inquired about Kartik’s girlfriend. According to her, while they filmed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, he seemed preoccupied with his phone between scenes. She attempted to eavesdrop on his discussions but only got snippets of him saying, “Me too, Me too.” When I asked him point blank, he said, “Her name is Meetu.”
Kapil Sharma also turned to Kartik’s mother and questioned how many girls had already dated him. She chuckled while replying, “Kis kis ka naam loge, ek ho to bolo,” (How many names will you take? If there was just one, I could answer). This made everyone laugh but was, in fact, a sign that Kartik has had a good number of relationships.

Kartik has always shared a bond with his mother and not just with her, she supports him at any event he attends. People still recall how she twirled at the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety success party.
Currently, Kartik is busy with Sreeleela on a Anurag Basu's film. A lot of people seem to think it is Aashiqui 3, but no one has said anything officially. True or not about the dating rumors, it is certainly going to be thrilling to watch them together on screen.
