Jean-Claude Van Damme, 64, is at the center of serious allegations in Romania involving sexual relations with trafficked women. A criminal complaint filed with Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) accuses the actor of “knowingly accepting five Romanian women as a ‘gift’” from a criminal network led by Morel Bolea. The group is already under investigation for human trafficking and organized crime.

Allegations Detail Awareness of Trafficking

The complaint asserts that Van Damme was aware of the women's vulnerable conditions. Adrian Cuculis, the lawyer representing one of the victims, stated, “The person who received those benefits knew their condition.” He added that the women were in a state of vulnerability and likely exploited.

The incident reportedly occurred during a private event organized by Van Damme in Cannes. One woman present at the gathering later provided testimony, which led prosecutors to open a formal investigation.

Legal Action Awaits French Court Authorization

Before legal proceedings in Romania can begin, the High Court of Cassation in France must approve the request for action. If granted, Van Damme and other suspects will be summoned for questioning in Romania. The case is reportedly connected to a larger human trafficking probe that began in 2020 under Romania’s Prosecutor’s Office.

No Official Statement from Van Damme

As of now, Jean-Claude Van Damme has not made any public statement regarding the allegations. His representatives and Romanian authorities, including DIICOT, have not commented on the matter.

Part of Larger Trend in Romania's Fight Against Trafficking

This case echoes other high-profile trafficking investigations in Romania, including those involving figures like Andrew Tate. Authorities continue to intensify scrutiny on individuals allegedly involved in cross-border exploitation and organized crime.

Van Damme, widely known for his roles in action films such as Bloodsport, Kickboxer, and The Expendables 2, now faces serious reputational damage as this investigation garners global attention.
