Eric Dane, the actor recognized for his role as Cal Jacobs in HBO’s hit series Euphoria, has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The 52-year-old star confirmed the diagnosis in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine and shared that he remains optimistic and grateful to continue working.

Dane publicly revealed he has been diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neurological disorder that affects muscle control.
He expressed appreciation for the support of his family and asked for privacy as they manage the condition.
“I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” Dane told PEOPLE.
Continuing His Work on Euphoria
Despite the diagnosis, Dane plans to return to filming for Season 3 of Euphoria, which begins on April 14.
He said he feels "fortunate" to continue his acting work.
“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week,” he added.
