In violation of government fee guidelines, private schools will be subjected to “stern action” as announced by the Kejriwal government’s Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. This announcement comes after several parents reported harassment by Queen Mary School in Model Town stemming from the school’s recently implemented fee hike.
“There are rules and regulations that must be observed. Should any school come under scrutiny for fee hikes and is deemed to indulge in this, they must suffer the consequences.”

Zero Tolerance on Injustice in Education.
Gupta has emphasized that fundamental rights of students and guardians have and will always be preserved by her government.
"Every child is supposed to receive justice, respect, and quality education. That is, exploitation or irregularity will be dealt with under a zero tolerance policy,” said Delhi’s Chief Minister.
As a follow up Gupta remarked that all schools which have received complaints will be served notices immediately.
Political Dispute Over School Fee Oversight.
This is unfolding news while AAP and BJP are engaged in a political duel. In a startling claim AAP pointed out BJP’s alleged connections with the Action Committee of Unaided Private Schools (ACUPPS), a body that fiercely opposed the AAP’s control on fee regulation.
Responding to this, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the attempts from AAP government:
“In Delhi, there are more than 1,650 private schools, but the Kejriwal government audited only 75 schools last year. This has given a freehand to the schools to increase the fees,” Sachdeva stated.
