Udaipur: The case of the death of a youth in custody on Thursday night in Gogunda police station of Udaipur district is heating up. Activists of various organizations including local society and Karni Sena surrounded the police station. They are demanding that the police register a case under the murder section. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, District Collector and District Superintendent of Police are at the spot.
It is being told that the police detained a young Surendra Rajput resident of Devaron Ka Kheda for questioning in connection with the abduction of a girl from a village near Gogunda city. The youth died during interrogation. Police say that the youth died of a heart attack. As soon as relatives and local socialites came to know about this, there was outrage. Crowds of people have gathered at the police station since night.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, District Collector Tarachand Meena and SP Vikas Sharma are at the spot. Along with the local community, workers of Rashtriya Karni Sena and other organizations are also present outside the police station. Additional police force has been deployed there from several police stations in the district. Additional police force has also been deployed at the mortuary of Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur.
