During the budget session, he claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his previous life. Explaining his statement, the MP said that a saint had once told him that PM Modi was the reincarnation of Shivaji Maharaj. According to him, Modi has been reborn to lead India, including Maharashtra, towards development and prosperity.

The statement has been widely criticized by Congress leaders and internet users. Many believe that such remarks diminish the historical and cultural significance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Critics argue that associating Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy with contemporary politics is an insult to his contributions and sacrifices.

"Placing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s crown on Narendra Modi’s head is an insult. This statement is disgusting."
