According to a recent Times of India report, the Congress party currently occupies two government bungalows in Lutyens' Delhi—more than any other national political party. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in response to a question by Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy in the Lok Sabha.

Party-Wise Bungalow Allotments in Delhi

Out of the six bungalows allocated to Election Commission-recognized national political parties, here's the current distribution:

Congress:

24, Akbar Road (Allotted in 1990)

5, Raisina Road (Youth Congress HQ, Allotted in 1976)

BJP:

9, Pandit Pant Marg (Allotted in 1999)

BJP has vacated its former headquarters at 11, Ashoka Road, which is now allotted to MP Baijayant Panda

National People's Party (NPP):

75, North Avenue (Allotted in August 2021)

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP):

29, Lodhi Estate (Allotted in 2023)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP):

1, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane (Allotted in July 2023)

The ministry clarified that no national political party has ever been denied allotment of a government bungalow for official use.

Land Allocations for Regional Parties and State Units

In addition to bungalow allotments, the Centre has allotted land in Delhi to several regional political parties for the construction of permanent party offices. These include:

Samajwadi Party

Rashtriya Lok Dal

Janata Dal (United)

DMK

AIADMK

Additionally, land has also been allotted to the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee and the Delhi unit of the BJP.

Policy Guidelines for Office Space

As per the 2012 policy for land allotment, political parties using temporary accommodations like Vithalbhai Patel House must vacate those spaces once they construct their offices on the allotted land or within three years of land possession, whichever comes first.
