Rahul Gandhi US Visit: Congress leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi, who is on a three-day US tour, has once again accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh of harming the democratic institutions of the country. Speaking on the assembly elections in Washington DC, Rahul said that we are confident that we will win the elections against the BJP. We will win these elections in the next two to three months. The Congress leader said that our institutions have to be recovered from the damage caused by the BJP and the RSS. This is not so easy. Rahul said that a structure has been created in India which attacks the opposition. The way the investigative agencies and law and order are functioning has to be stopped. The biggest challenge is to make the institutions as neutral as before.

Only two people are running a business in India- Rahul

In a program, Rahul said ‘We, the people of India Alliance, believe that the Constitution should be protected. Most of us are in favor of caste census. Only two people, Adani and Ambani, are running all the businesses in the country. We have run the coalition government in a better way. We are confident that we can run the coalition government again. This is not Indi Alliance as BJP says. This is India Alliance. People have liked this alliance.’

‘Then we will think about ending the reservation’

Earlier, while addressing students at the prestigious Georgetown University, Rahul said that ‘when there is fairness in India (in terms of reservation), then we will think about ending reservation. Right now India is not a fair place for this.’ Rahul said, ‘When you look at the financial figures, the tribals get 10 paise out of 100 rupees. Dalits get five rupees out of 100 rupees and the other backward class (OBC) people also get almost the same amount. The truth is that they are not getting proper participation.’

There are no tribals in business: Rahul

He said, “The problem is that 90percentt of India’s population is not able to participate. Look at the list of every single ‘business leader’ in India. I have done that. Show me the Adivasi names. Show me the Dalit names. Show me the OBC names. I think one in the top 200 is an OBC. They are 50 percent of India’s population. But we are not treating the disease.” He said, “That is the problem. Now, this (reservation) is not the only means. There are other means also.”
