Taking care of safety while buying a car is a wise decision. If you are also going to buy a car or any other vehicle and give importance to a safe vehicle, then there is good news for you. India’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) has announced the launch of safety-rated QR code stickers for cars. This initiative aims to increase awareness about the safety of vehicles. Customers can know about the safety features of the vehicle by scanning the QR code on the sticker. India NCAP will send QR code stickers to automobile manufacturers whose vehicles have undergone crash testing as part of the safety program.

These cars have been given a 5-star rating

According to the news, these stickers will include the name of the manufacturer, name of the vehicle or model, date of test, and safety star rating for both adults and children. Scanning the sticker will reveal detailed details of the vehicle. According to the news of Financial Express, currently, the vehicles that have completed the crash test and belong to Tata Motors include Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon EV, and Punch EV. These models have been given a 5-star rating by India NCAP for both adult and child safety.

Know Bharat NCAP

In the year 2023, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways launched the Bharat NCAP safety rating in collaboration with Global NCAP. With this crash-testing policy, India became the fifth country globally to adopt such a safety mechanism. During the announcement of Bharat NCAP, the Union Minister of Road Transport mentioned that they have already received more than 30 requests for crash tests under this voluntary safety scheme.

The slogan “More Stars, Safer Cars” reflects India NCAP’s mission to raise safety awareness for all new vehicles and reduce accident rates. The organization also believes that this initiative will enable car buyers to make better-informed choices by understanding the safety features of vehicles.
