The All India Bank Employees Association, Bengal Provincial Bank Employees Association, and the BEFI are among the trade unions participating along with AITUC, HMS, CITU, INTUC, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF, and UTUC.

What is the reason behind Bharat Bandh on 9th July

As stated previously, unions are set to strike on 9th July, opposing government policies. The Bank Employees Union has called for a strike in response to what they define as the anti-labour and pro-corporate policies of the central government's economic reforms. They claim that the government is trying to benefit the corporates by ignoring their demands. Based on the Union Forum, between 25 to 30 crore employees are expected to partake in the strike. They will also be joined by farmers and laborers. There are 17 issues raised by the employee unions which they claim have not been addressed by the government.
