The Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have condemned the attack in Pahalgam Jammu and Kashmir that recently killed 26 people, two of whom were foreigners and two locals. The attack was done by terrorists, and like other nations, they have expressed condolences with the victims while also supporting global fights against terrorism.
Bangladesh Condemns the Violence in Pahalgham:
Violence is something the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh has deemed unmerciful and barbaric, through a press release, they stated, ‘In the contemporary world everyone should try to keep violence at bay because it is a ‘mindless act’’. The Ministry on its part showed ‘deepest sympathies’ to the victims families and asserted his bold support for fighting terrorism in all its aspects.

The statement concerning the attack released quotes, ‘Indiscriminate violence aimed at innocent people, coupled with opportunistic attacks against the sovereignty of nations, serves no purpose other than to provoke war.” This demonstrates the weakened posture of regional nations like India against radicalisim.
China’s Response:
China also reacted through a statement where Guo Jiakun the Foreign Ministry speaker expressed his remorse to the victims and their families, China was sympathetic yet they still emphasized that, “Phelambih is a place that strongly condems this attack," a statement not common among India on any terrorism related issue in Kashmir.
Pakistan’s Statement and Regional Implications:
Pakistan issued a measured response, expressing concern to some extent over the loss of lives in Anantnag district. The statement from the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson, Shafqat Khan, extended condolences and noted a speedy recovery for the injured. However, these comments were made amid the rising tensions concerning the so called The Resistance Front (TRF) proxy outfit which has been claiming the responsibility of the attack and is purportedly affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba based in Pakistan.
This boils down to further examination of cross border terrorism, and the role that Pakistan plays with regards to the security environment of Jammu and Kashmir.
Background on the Attack:
The incident happened in Baisaran meadow located near Pahalgam which is a well-known tourist area often termed 'mini Switzerland' of the country. The terrorists aimed and shot at a cluster of civilians which created widespread panic and international outrage. It is the most severe such event in the country since the Pulwama attack in 2019. This is bound to escalate diplomatic tension in the region.
