BJP’s I-T cell head Amit Malviya on Tuesday alleged that a dispute between two Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs took place at the Election Commission of India (ECI) office in New Delhi. The incident reportedly happened on April 4, 2024, during a scheduled visit by the MPs to submit a memorandum.

According to Malviya, one of the MPs bypassed the party’s instructions to gather at Parliament to sign the document and went straight to the EC office. This decision apparently upset another MP, leading to a heated verbal exchange.

Alleged Altercation Escalated to Party WhatsApp Group

Malviya further claimed the altercation reached TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, who reportedly instructed both MPs to stand down. However, tensions continued on the party's WhatsApp group, named ‘AITC MP 2024’, where members allegedly took sides and engaged in a war of words.

He posted screenshots of the chat on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, showcasing how factions within the party were "trading barbs."

Videos and Mysterious Reference Stir Speculation

Malviya shared four videos that appear to show senior MP Kalyan Banerjee visibly agitated, with Derek O'Brien and other party members seen attempting to defuse the situation.

One of the shared screenshots referenced a “versatile international lady”, a phrase used by Kalyan Banerjee in the group chat. Malviya left readers guessing, writing:

“Who exactly is the ‘versatile international lady’? That mystery is one for the world to unravel.”

No Official Response Yet from TMC

As of now, the Trinamool Congress has not issued an official response to Malviya’s claims or the authenticity of the shared content. The developments, if true, could indicate rising internal tensions ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
