Kolkata: On Friday, the state training program of the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party began after worship at the Tarapith temple. This special training is very important before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the party had won 18 seats in the state. After which it is a big challenge for the party to repeat this performance after the crushing defeat of the party in the 2021 assembly elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has set the state leadership a target of winning at least 35 seats. Union ministers and central level leaders have taken the reins of the state instead of relying only on Sukant Majumdar, Shubhendu Adhikari. Apart from Shah, the party’s national president JP Nadda has taken the responsibility of preparing for the seats lost in the last Lok Sabha elections. All India General Secretary (Organization) BL Santosh is also present this time. First of all, he will meet the top leaders of the state BJP.

Six months ago, the BJP had appointed 24 party workers as ‘expanders’ to strengthen the organization of the state’s 24 lost Assembly seats in this three-day training camp. After a long selection process, those 24 workers have been sent to Patna. There are trainings across the country. This time also training will be given to work according to the situation here.

The state BJP has decided not to announce who is coming officially as it is an internal matter of the organization. However, sources have confirmed that the training session will be strategized especially regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
