An old interview of Vivek Oberoi included his fond recollection about a humorous incident with Saif Ali Khan that befell during Omkara film production. According to Vivek Oberoi Saif Ali Khan unexpectedly left the set because Ajay and he conducted playful tricks on him.
Vivek described how during the scene in Allahabad's Prayag Temple a couple of genuine Uttar Pradesh gangsters supposedly planned to "abduct" them for a special style of treatment. The actors discovered periods for lightness even though they worked amid an environment filled with overwhelming pressure. The scene for the day was wrapped up for Vivek and Ajay so they initiated a prank session to create mischief for Saif.
The scene was in progress during morning hours as I along with Ajay completed our work and got ready to depart by chopper before Saif finished his part. The shooting for Saif had not started yet so we continued to tease him with comments about security and how we were finished with our work. Things got more interesting when the builds-up of their harassment occurred. Vivek and Ajay entered the helicopter whereby they encountered an unforeseen scenario.
Saif sprinted toward us with nothing but a dhoti after finishing his film scene the moment we had settled into the helicopter. Saif headed towards the helicopter as he ran bare-chested wearing just his dhoti. He kept his original state rather than changing his appearance. The scene became exceptionally funny according to Vivek who shared this story with laughter. Saif's unexpected reaction spread pleasant energy throughout the demanding production set.
During Omkara production Saif Ali Khan revealed that Vishal Bhardwaj requested him to strip completely bare in a particular scene.
Saif decided to reject the proposition from Vishal Bhardwaj when asked to film a nude scene. Ever since the day Saif decided against the request his acting career has become filled with numerous memorable and strange experiences.
The audiences have continued to admire Saif Ali Khan in his recent appearance in Devara: Part 1 along with his standout performances in the film.
After starting as a romantic lead Saif Ali Khan expanded his acting abilities to portray complicated dark characters which proves his extraordinary talent as actor and solidifies his time on Omkara sets as memorable for its unexpected twinned with chaotic fun.
