The administration of President Donald Trump plans to remove funding from the federal Education Department and plans to reveal these steps during later February, a White House official said on Monday.
The Wall Street Journal released news about Trump administration advisers exploring executive orders to dissolve the Education Department because billionaire Elon Musk along with his supporters aimed at downsizing federal workforce.
Sources from the Journal reported that U.S. officials investigated an executive order which would perform three actions: shutting down unspecified Education Department functions grounded in statutory requirements or redirecting them to separate federal agencies and demanding a congressional bill to eliminate the department entirely.
The Education Department failed to provide any immediate statement during this period. New information suggests that such an announcement will potentially emerge before Tuesday.
Students and budgetary analysts affiliated with the Republican party heavily opposed the Education Department policies of Joe Biden's presidency because of his student debt forgiveness plan and his diversity and inclusion programs.
Through executive orders Trump has started to destroy DEI program initiatives spread throughout the federal government. ABC News delivered news on Monday about Department of Education staff who got work-termination letters from the department on Friday evening just before standard business hours ended.
