Kochi: Chemmanur, a well-known businessman in the state of Kerala, was detained by the Special Investigation Team after actor Honey Rose accused him of sexual harassment, an official told news agency PTI. He was arrested from Wayanad after a case against him had been registered under non-bailable IPC sections.

Speaking to a news channel, Ms. Rose condemned the police’s actions and said that the Chief Minister had promised to take adequate measures when she first complained to him. She stated that it was all a normal day instead.

Earlier this week, a cyberattack on the actor, who has Twitter and Instagram, was launched after she accused someone of stalking her during a Facebook live stream. So far, there have been close to a dozen arrests by the police in this case. She stated that she always retaliates against the stalkers but never publicly to avoid getting any media coverage.

This week, Ms. Rose, who gained recognition in “Trivandrum Lodge” back in 2012, presented a case to police alleging Chemmanur made “humiliating dreaded remarks” targeting her which As per her last week’s police’s complaint, about four months ago, she had this incident which greatly upset her family.

He is the chairman of Chemmanur Group, a multi-billion dollar jewellery company, operating in various regions of the world. In 2012, he aided in the promotion of the football legend Diego Maradona in Kerala.

He lodged a complaint against an SIT on Friday, and the authorities arrested the man on Wednesday so they could conduct an investigation into the complaints against him.
