Ultraviolette has announced a limited introductory price of ₹1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 1000 customers, after which the cost will increase to ₹1.75 lakh. Ultra provides no further information on pricing structure or reservation plans. However, pre bookings for Shockwave start today and deliveries are expected to start during 2026's first quarter.

Performance and specifications

Electric motors are more efficient than their IC counterparts, and this becomes abundantly clear when you look at the Ultraviolette Shockwave. Their electric motor is rated at 14.5 bhp, but it’s torque is an eye opening 505Nm at peak wheel rotation. The electric enduro also has a 120km/h top speed with a lesser known 0 – 60 km/h time of 2.9 seconds. It's specs change the further along the timeline Ultrviolette takes to releiving full data. So far they only state the electric bike weighs 120kg and have provided no information on drivetrain figure or wet weight.

The announced range is 165km according to IDC but the battery size they have packed into the bike doesn’t break any records, just missing out on a magic number that would make you quickly compute the size into metric measures.

Suspension, brakes and wheels

The Shockwave has been made to withstand harsher riding conditions, and to meet those standards, the bike has a 37mm cartridge type fork with 200mm of front ing and a rear monoshod head with 180mm travel. The bike boast an aggressive stance on spoked wheels wrapped in 90/90 tires up front with 90/90 rating and 110/90 on the rear.

The 270 mm front disc incorporates an axial-mounted dual-piston calliper while the rear has  a 220 mm disc equipped with a floating piston calliper.

Design

Taking a cue from traditional two-strokes motorcycles, Ultraviolette is looking to achieve instantaneous low-end torque at an astonishingly light weight, and for that reason aims to make the bike as agile as possible. In addition, the Shockwave is expected to come in a two-passenger version, which would further enhance its value for those seeking both thrilling rides and practical daily use.

Competition

With the current pricing, the Shockwave competes well with the recently introduced Hero XPulse 210 which is priced at ₹1.76 lakh (ex showroom) since earlier this year. Nevertheless, unlike all the other models of bikes focusing in the Shockwave’s segment, the Shockwave is the first electric enduro motorcycle of India and so has a very unique place in the market.
