A wave of panic has swept across Uttarakhand following a series of anonymous bomb threats targeting key institutions. The latest target is Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani, the largest government hospital in the Kumaon region.

This follows recent threats made against the Nainital High Court and 12 other district courts across the state, putting security agencies on high alert.

The Threat to Sushila Tiwari Hospital

The threat arrived via an official email sent to the principal of the medical college attached to the hospital. The email claimed that explosives had been planted within the premises.

As soon as the news broke, the hospital administration and police jumped into action. Classes at the medical college were immediately suspended, and students were asked to evacuate the campus. A massive search operation was launched, involving bomb disposal squads and dog units. While no suspicious items have been found so far, the tension remains high.

Courts Under Tight Security

This incident isn't isolated. Over the last few days, several courts, including the High Court, have received similar threats. Some emails even went as far as threatening the use of "drone bombs" and included inflammatory slogans.

In response, security at all court premises has been made "impenetrable."

Strict Entry: No one is allowed to enter court premises without a valid ID card or a recommendation from the High Court Bar.

Security Audits: A comprehensive security audit has been ordered for all courts in the state to fix any loopholes.

Increased Force: Extra police and PAC (Provincial Armed Cerebellum) personnel have been deployed to guard the gates and conduct thorough screenings of all visitors.

The Investigation

Uttarakhand’s cyber cell is working overtime to trace the origin of these emails. Investigators are trying to determine if these are coordinated attacks by a specific group or if they are the work of a single individual trying to cause chaos.

While these threats have so far turned out to be hoaxes, the state government is taking no chances, maintaining a "zero-tolerance" approach toward security.
