Today’s weather 04 October 2024: Heat increased in Delhi as soon as monsoon returned, heavy rain alert in 11 states including West Bengal

New Delhi: Monsoon is slowly moving towards its return in many states of the country. Due to this, heat has increased in some states including Delhi and Rajasthan. The highest maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Pokhran, Rajasthan. There is no possibility of rain in North West, West, and Central India during the next week. At the same time, heavy rain is falling in the states of the Northeast. 

There will be heavy rain here during the next 24 hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura today and tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Kerala and Mahe during the next 7 days. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Rayalaseema with strong winds till October 8. 

 The heat increased as the temperature increased in Delhi.

The maximum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Thursday was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. According to the IMD, the sky remained clear during the day while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department has forecast clear skies on Friday. The maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature at 25 degrees Celsius. 

Possibility of rain during Durga Puja in West Bengal

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning during Durga Puja festival in West Bengal. Somnath Dutta, head of the Eastern Region Meteorological Department, said that light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected during the festival. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in all districts of South Bengal on October 5. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at some places in all districts from October 6 to October 9.

The IMD said that rain is expected to continue in various districts, especially Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar, from October 7 to October 9. Partly cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers may continue in some areas from October 10 to 13.
