
NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League 2025 is witnessing big scores so far and the trend continued when the Punjab Kings (PBKS) set the record for the highest-ever T20 total at The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by scoring 243/5 against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday. This was a new benchmark at the venue.
This also marked Punjab’s second highest IPL total after they scored 262/2 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens last season.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer led the charge with a blistering knock of 97 (unbeaten) runs from 42 balls, just 3 runs short of a century. Nine sixes and five fours were hit by Iyer to propel PBKS to an astonishing total. Late flourish was provided by Shashank Singh, who scored 44 off 16 balls, hitting 2 six and 6 fours, including 23 runs in the last over.
Earlier, young Priyansh Arya (47 off 23) led the charge and didn't hold back against GT bowlers. He smashed Arshad Khan for 21 runs in an over before Kagiso Rabada made short work of Prabhsimran Singh.

He mercilessly hammered GT's bowling, hitting Sai Kishore for two sixes followed by back-to-back sixes off Rashid which took PBKS past the 200 mark. \n \nPunjab Kings have put up a towering total yet again and pose a severe threat to the Gujarat Titans who now, face the unimaginable task of chasing the incredible total.
