As they reached near Arhara village, they were intercepted by four men traveling in a four-wheeler. The men forcibly stopped them and dragged three of the girls into their car.

According to the police, the accused drove the girls to a secluded, deserted spot on the banks of the Balaghat Koel River. There, away from any public view, the men allegedly gangraped two of the girls.
