Mufasa: The Lion King Movie Review:  Mufasa: The Lion King has been released worldwide, giving a glimpse of the life of a king who is about to take over his father’s throne. But, among those claiming the throne, he shows his worth and becomes entitled to it. This is the prequel to the 2019 film ‘The Lion King’. The story of this film based on Mufasa and royal blood shows Mufasa’s journey to become king. While Aryan Khan made his debut as the voice of Simba in the 2019 release, in the 2024 release, Shah Rukh Khan’s younger son Abram has also stepped into the world of dubbing by giving his voice. Aryan Khan has dubbed the character of Simba while Abram has dubbed the younger version of Mufasa. This time a Bollywood touch has also been given to the Hollywood film.

Story

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ begins with Rafiki telling Simba’s daughter Kiara the story of her grandfather. Mufasa’s story, however, has not been presented well. Simba is constantly seen having fun and doing silly things as Timon and Pumbaa. But, the makers failed to present their real identities as there is nothing special to see in the prequel as compared to ‘The Lion King’. However, being Kiara’s ‘grandfather’, Rafiki has tried to present the characters well by playing his part in the story of Mufasa and Taka.

The story of the film begins with Mufasa who is separated from his parents at a young age and finds it very difficult to forget them. Later Mufasa meets Taka and his mother Afia, who take equal care of both of them and treat Mufasa no less than her son. Afia helps Mufasa become king. Sadly, Mufasa’s story does not end with a happy ending. Mufasa vows to kill Keeros Taka. To escape and save themselves, both brothers run to the Pride Lands for a better life, while Keeros falls prey to a witch. However, in the midst of all this, they meet Sarabi and Jaju. The characters are introduced one after the other in Bollywood style. Taka liked Sarabi, but Sarabi loves Mufasa. At the same time, the film shows the fight between the two brothers to get a girl. The second half of the film answers many questions like how Taka betrays Mufasa because of Sarabi, can the righteous leader recognize himself and the other from Kiros and how Taka of royal blood turns into Scar?

Directing and writing

At a time when many film franchises are busy making money with sequels, Hollywood filmmaker Barry Jenkins is going to make a splash by adopting a new path. However, the story of making a king remains the same. However, ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ has failed to keep its audience hooked this time like the 2019 story. There are many scenes which the filmmakers failed to make excellent. Apart from this, they also presented Takka in a wrong way. That also shows the shortcomings of the film. The king has not been presented well in the story of his film from the ‘future king’ to the traitor Scar. Apart from this, there was a lot to tell in the long story of this film, but still a lot of things in the film seemed boring. Like the first film, some good animal action sequences were also seen. But, there were also many such scenes in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, which should be appreciated. Like its music, good dialogues, stunning visuals and excellent Hindi dubbing brought life to the film.

Hindi Dubbing

Shahrukh Khan rocked the role of Mufasa. King Khan not only won everyone’s heart by giving voice to this character but also brought life to the story with his voice. King Khan has once again proved that he is a multi-talented star of Bollywood. His acting as well as his voice is very strong. He has earned a lot of name in the film world without any connection. A superstar who paved the way for other outsiders and rocked the movies. On the other hand, Abram has done less to find Simba. Makrand Deshpande has done a great job as Rafiki and you will miss Asrani as Jaju, but Sanjay Mishra and Shreyas have tried to fill the gap as Pumbaa and Timon. But Meiyang Chang was liked the most as Taka. He rocked with Shahrukh in dubbing.

how is the movie

Mufasa: The Lion King is a one time watch film. This film is about some special things in life which gives you a lesson and gives you a chance to live your childhood once again. Apart from this, knowing the childhood of our OG king is a very good experience in itself. Bollywood lovers will also like this film because it has a touch of Hindi films. Apart from some shortcomings, Mufasa: The Lion King is a great Hindi dubbed film which deserves 2.5 stars.
