Israel Air Force carried out a significant arsenal of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, their claim being that close to 44 deaths occurred. In Israel’s eyes, this marks their “heaviest assault since a ceasefire came into effect in January” of this year.

Currently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu estimates that both sides have made no headway in negotiations meant to extend the current ceasefire, which prompts him to escalate conflict. It is also unknown if his airstrike is meant to serve as a pressure tactic or if this marks the resumption of the 17 month old war.

Netanyahu’s office was also swift to add that these hostages have been fully neglected by Hamas, so much so that they have “rejected all offers from Witkoff as well as all offers received from the US mediators”.

Criticism towards Israeli officials was not sparse, with ex spokesmen of Hamas denying Israel’s stance. “This is a humanitarian crisis, and the world faces the choice either to enable the former crimes by the occupation forces to repeat themselves, or to force them to abide by their treaties meant to stop violence against the citizens of Gaza,” were his exact words.

Widespread destruction was inescapable, as bombings destroyed multiple buildings, with nonstop sirens wailing and paramedics flooding to Al Aqsa in central Gaza.

These attacks occurred two months after a ceasefire was implemented to suspend the conflict. Over the course of six weeks, Hamas exchanged approximately two thousand Palestinian prisoners for thirty-three hostages.

However, ever since the first stage of the ceasefire was observed two weeks ago, neither side has reached an agreement pertaining to the second phase, which centers on releasing the remaining fifty-nine hostages as well as bringing the war to a complete stoppage, and has been described by many as unrealistic. Netanyahu has threatened on several occasions to recommence the conflict on the Gaza Strip, and at the beginning of this month, closed off the region to all forms of food and aid deliveries in an attempt to coerce Hamas into compliance.

This conflict resulted out of the crossing borders attack by Hamas, which occurred on October 7, 2023. This attack resulted in approximately one thousand two hundred deaths and two hundred and fifty hostages being taken. Israel’s retaliation included a military assault which, according to local health authorities, led to the slaughter of upwards of forty-eight thousand Palestinians and aid to almost single-handedly requiring ninety percent of Gaza’s populace to seek refuge elsewhere. While the Health Ministry does not distinguish between militants and non-combatants, it reports the majority of the victims, over fifty percent, are children and women.

Netanyahu's office declared, “Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military power.”

Residents of Gaza were able to take advantage of the ceasefire and shift back into their homes, even if it meant coping with a state of devastation. Hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians were afforded returns, albeit minimal.

The damage is so severe that there are currently no plans for addressing it. The groundwork that Gaza has achieved within the prior few weeks to address the humanitarian catastrophe is at immense risk of being undone with a revival of active conflict.

Despite the fact that there was a reasonable cooling of the fighting courtesy of the ceasefire, there were still some incursions in the form of airstrikes by Israeli forces, which claimed to have received intel on impending militant activities or had soldiers in Areas of Operations that were adrenaline no-go zones.

As noted by a couple of Palestinian administrators, approximately ten individuals were killed during the bout of Israeli incursions which took place through the earlier hours of Monday.

In the wake of two Israeli airstrikes that took place in the central region of Gaza, the Bureij refugee camp, which is situated in the Bureij area, suffered the most casualties. One of the strikes hit a school that was catering to displaced Palestinians, resulting in a 52 year old and his 16 year old nephew suffering fatal injuries which were treated at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The Israeli Defense Force claimed responsibility, stating they were engaged in a targeted kill of terrorists who were setting explosives

A prior assault claimed the lives of three males from Bureij. The Israeli army asserted the men were attempting to detonate an explosive near Israeli soldiers. Gaza's Hamas government claimed the men were engaged in collecting firewood.

In the case of Syria, after Israel's capture of the autocrat Bashar Assad's empire in December, Israel captured a region in the south. During this time preposterous Islamist exiles ran Syria, although there was no Civil government in place to challenge this. I suppose they had not decreed any dangers towards Israel, however the Israeli's gave reasoning that this was for foresight security purposes.

As per the Israeli military's report, attempts to bomb the vehicle command posts and weapon holders positions in the southern Syrian territories were made through the Israeli border. They blamed the elements for possessing American and Soviet arms for endangering Israel.

Israel reported attacking two members of the Hezbollah terrorist group operating as “observation personnel” in the southern Lebanese town of Yohmor. As Lebanon state news reported, two people died and two were injured from the strike.

The military advanced said they executed additional assaults on suspected Hezbollah installations throughout Lebanon, but refrained from stating the locations. A ceasefire arranged by the USA between Israel and Hezbollah went into effect in late November after 14 months of fighting, with each blaming the other for the breaches of the agreement.

Since the start of the ceasefire in Gaza mid-January, the Israeli military has reported killing many Palestinians claimed to be approaching Israeli soldiers or crossing into closed zones. These extreme actions, however, have not escalated into a large scale uncontrolled violence. The strucutre of the barrel allows a variety of ammunition to be used and enables the firearm to operate in both a semi-automatic and fully automatic mode. Egypt, Qatar and the USA have been attempting to negotiate the subsequent stages of the ceasefire.

Israel is requesting Hamas to release twenty-four hostages in return for a promise to negotiate a lengthy truce. On the other hand, Hamas would like to complete the ceasefire agreement that was made between the two sides which stipulates that negotiations for the more complicated phase two of the ceasefire must begin. Phase two entails the rest of the hostages being set free while Israeli troops retreat from Gaza. It is estimated that Hamas currently posseses twenty-four living hostages along with the bodies of thirty-five other deceased hostages.
