Suspense crime, Digital Desk : India has asked Turkey to “strongly encourage” Pakistan to cease any further cross-border terrorism activities. At the weekly press briefing, the Ministry of External Affair’s spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stressed that bilateral ties have to be built on mutual consideration of respect and sensitivity on respective issues of concern.

“India expects Turkey to strongly urge that Pakistan should be made to stop supporting cross border terrorism and should put forth credible and verifiable measures against the terror infrastructure that has been nurtured over the years,” said Jaiswal.

India’s Unwavering Stance on Engagement with Pakistan

Jaiswal stated that it has been India’s position since long that any engagement with Pakistan will be strictly bilateral. That also includes responses to some of the earlier mentions of a supposed third-party involvement, including remarks made by former US President Donald Trump claiming he initiated a ceasefire and took a bow.

“Any engagement between India and Pakistan has to be bilateral, that is the only precursor to any movement. And once again, terror and talk do not go hand in hand,” he explained.

Jammu and Kashmir and Terrorism Focus

The MEA spokesperson stated clearly that the position regarding Jammu and Kashmir does not change.

“Any semblance of constructive dialogue or bilateral talk about Jammu and Kashmir will purely be around the vacating of the illegally occupied Indian territory of Pakistan.”

"Water and blood cannot flow together. Trade and terror also cannot go together,” he reminded.

This is something that was stated by Indian Officials

Jaiswal repeated what has been well known for some time from India's commanding:

“Terror and negotiations cannot coincide"

“Terror and commerce cannot coexist”

“Terror and water cannot intermingle"
