If you’re a daily highway commuter, big savings and convenience are coming your way! Starting August 15, 2025, the Indian government is launching the FASTag Annual Pass. For just ₹3,000, you get toll-free travel for a year or up to 200 trips on all National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE).

Key Highlights of FASTag Annual Pass

One Payment, Zero Hassles: Pay ₹3,000 once for 200 free highway toll trips or a whole year—whichever comes first.

Covers All National Routes: Valid across the entire NH and NE network—perfect for daily commuters and intercity travelers.

Private Vehicles Only: Only available for private car, jeep, or van owners. Commercial vehicles do not qualify.

Strict Verification: Vehicle details checked against the VAHAN database. Misuse or wrong info leads to immediate FASTag block.

How Do You Get the Pass?

Quick & Digital Application:

Apply via the Highway Travel Mobile App or visit the NHAI website.

Pay ₹3,000 online.

After verification, the pass activates in just 2 hours!

How Will the Pass Work?

Toll-Free Highway Travel: No charges at any NH or NE toll plaza for up to 200 trips or one year.

After Expiry: Once you reach 200 trips or a year ends (whichever is sooner), your FASTag converts back to normal—standard rates resume.

Other Roads: On state highways, local roads, or parking, regular charges will apply as per your FASTag’s normal use.

Trip Counting Explained

Open Toll System: One crossing = One trip

Closed Toll System: One entry-exit pair = One trip

Why This Pass? What Did the Government Say?

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways introduced the pass to make life easy for frequent highway users. By paying upfront, you save both money and time—no more repeated toll stops. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari says this move will reduce congestion and deliver a smoother travel experience for daily commuters.
