In response to the heavy passenger demand during the summer season, Western Railway has announced a new weekly special train connecting Gujarat's industrial hubs to Bihar. The Udhna–Jaynagar–Udhna Summer Special (Train No. 09061/09062) is set to provide much-needed relief to migrants and travelers, ensuring a smoother journey between the two states.

Schedule: Udhna–Jaynagar Weekly Special (Unreserved)

The train is designed as an Unreserved Special, making it accessible for last-minute travelers. It will complete a total of two trips during its initial run in April 2026.

Why This Train is Important

The route from Surat (Udhna) to North Bihar (Jaynagar/Darbhanga) is one of the busiest in India, especially during the summer months when many workers return to their hometowns.

Direct Connectivity: It bypasses the need for multiple transfers at major hubs like Delhi or Mumbai.

Unreserved Coaches: Ideal for those who were unable to secure confirmed tickets on regular express trains like the Antyodaya or Shramik specials.

Strategic Timing: The midnight departure from Udhna allows workers to complete their Saturday shifts before heading to the station.

Important Instructions for Passengers

Unreserved Status: Since the train is unreserved, passengers are advised to reach the station well in advance to secure a seat.

Food and Water: While major stations have catering, carrying dry snacks and water is recommended for this 37-hour long journey.

Security: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel will be deployed to manage the crowd at major boarding points like Udhna and Patna.
