Earthquake jolted Haryana on Wednesday. The earthquake struck at 12:30 pm. Strong tremors were felt in Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, Jhajjar and Gurugram, after which people came out of their houses. According to the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.5 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was at a depth of 5 kilometers in Kundal village of Sonipat. However, it is a matter of relief that no loss of life or property has been reported so far.

At present, the administration is monitoring the situation and has appealed to the people to remain alert instead of panicking. According to experts, such mild tremors usually do not cause any major problems in the area, but it is always necessary to follow earthquake related precautions for safety.
