In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a drunk dumper driver dragged a bike rider for eight kilometers. By the time the dumper stopped, the condition of both the bike rider and the bike had deteriorated. Pictures after the accident have also surfaced, in which the bike is completely damaged and only its parts are visible. At the same time, the complete body of the bike rider could not be recovered. More than half of the body of the bike rider was destroyed after being dragged between the truck and the road for eight kilometers.
The incident is of Patara police outpost area of Ghatampur police station area. When passersby saw a young man being dragged under a dumper along with his bike, they informed the police. Police reached the spot and took the dumper into custody. The driver fled from the spot. With the help of PNC crane, police removed the mutilated body along with the bike stuck in the dumper and sent it for postmortem. After registering the case, the police has started identifying the deceased and searching for the truck driver.
Seeing the police the driver left the dumper and ran away
Near Tilsada Mod located in Patara town of Ghatampur police station area, a speeding dumper coming from Kanpur hit and crushed a young man riding a bike. After the accident, the young man along with the bike got stuck under the dumper. After this, the drunk dumper driver dragged the bike rider for almost eight kilometers on the Kanpur Sagar Highway. When passersby saw the dumper dragging the bike rider, they called and informed the police about the incident. When the police got the information and chased the dumper, the dumper driver left the dumper on the side of the highway near Veerpur village of Ghatampur police station area and fled. The young man died a painful death in the accident.
Four kilometer long jam on the highway
Ghatampur Inspector Dhananjay Kumar Pandey said that with the help of PNC’s crane, the body of the youth along with the damaged bike was taken out and sent for postmortem. The incident is being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of the complaint. When Ghatampur police traced the owner from the number plate of the bike, the bike was registered in the name of Shubham Dwivedi, a resident of Govind Nagar Dabauli, Kanpur. Police tried to contact on the mobile number but could not get in touch. Police has sent the address of the bike owner to Govind Nagar police. After the police reaches the house, it will be known who was driving the bike. This will help in identifying the youth. After the incident, with the help of PNC’s crane, the damaged bike and the body hanging in the dumper were taken out. During this, a jam of about four kilometers long was formed on the highway. Police has restored traffic on the highway by running one lane at a time.
