Last Sunday around 11 P.M., Baradari police of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh dealt a hard blow to what is believed to be a beef smuggling syndicate whole operating in the region. During the incident, one on the suspects, who goes by the name Kasim alias Sanu Kasai and is from Kasai Tola, was shot in the thigh and later arrested. Allegedly, he opened fire at the police when the police tried to accost him.

He was found with a motorcycle, a pistol with live ammunition, and equipment that appeared to have been employed in merciless cattle slaughter.  

Other Suspects Show up with More Family  

Other relatives of the named suspect were also suggested as having involvement including Wasseem and his brother Fayaz from Mohalla Kazitola. Fights broke out during the round-up. According to law enforcement, relatives engaged in violent external interference with what they described as legitmate police structure. Only during the free-for-all did Fayaz manage to elude when he vaulted over a parapet.

Other Family(ies) Rounded Up  

A charge was made under the auspices of obstruction of a relevant government activity against of the following: the wife of ayaz’soes, his daughters Sofia & Junaina, his son, and Noor Jahan. In additoin, along with the forgoing, made up the mother of Waseem, Phulbano and arrested along with Sana sister of Fahim.

Ongoing Investigation

Baradari Police Inspector Dhananjay Pandey has stated that multiple persons are still at large pertaining to active cases of cow slaughtering. The authorities are still pursuing the investigation as well as other leads for the remaining suspects. Necessary actions have already been taken under the relevant punitive measures of the law.
