UP Panchayat Elections 2025: Uttar Pradesh assembly panchayat elections might occur in 2026 but the BJP is already preparing for them. Its claims were made that together with the Lok Sabha and UP by-elections, the BJP’s workers had planned to get around 10000 of their employees and followers into the Government.
In reality, the State has around 12 such Commissions and Boards, for example, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Finance Development Corporation where promises have been made. These appointments had started to be made in July of the last year. SC Commission, OBC Commission, Women Commission, the Pollution Control Board, Child Protection Board and the cooperative institutions all have made these appointments. Over two hundred employees have been put on. But it was kept in abeyance in between for some unknown reasons.
Along with these, there are 17 Nagar Nigams, 200 Nagar Palika Parishads and 490 Nagar Panchayats in UP. In these, over 5 thousand councilors and councilors will be nominated. The party has also started the process of collecting names from every district. According to sources, the adjustment process in the Corporation Commission Board will start after the BJP district presidents list is put out.
It may be noted that, in such political assignments, the commissions, corporations and boards are paid an honorarium ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 per month. The remuneration of the chairman and members of some commissions is equal to that of the Principal Secretary of the Government. In Lucknow, type- 4 and 5 government residential quarters, car and security guard are also provided. The appointed councilors in Nagar Nigam, Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayat are limited to 10 percent of the total Elected councilors.
When will the opportunity arise?
In the course of the realignment, in addition to the previous governmental officials who were recruited during the Lok Sabha elections and members from other parties, ex-MLAs, ex-MPs from BJP and dedicated party activists from the district whose tenure in the party has been of significant duration will also be given an opportunity. In addition, those party workers and leaders who have done well in the recent Lok Sabha elections and the assembly by-elections will also be accommodated. Along with this, a lot of unhappy workers and leaders will get to be in public. Those leaders who in the course of the drive for recruitment did well in the campaign will also be accommodated.
