Deepinder Goyal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zomato, a food delivery company, on Sunday, said that malls need to be ‘more humane towards their delivery partners/delivery boys’. He shared his experience of being a delivery boy taking orders for Zomato. Sharing his experience on a social media post, Goyal said, “During my second order, I realized that we need to work together with malls to improve the working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane towards delivery partners. What do you think?”

Expressed pain by sharing a video

He also posted a video sharing his experience. He said, “We reached Ambience Mall in Gurugram to collect an order from Haldiram. We were asked to go through another entrance but later found out that they were asking me to take the stairs. We again went inside through the main entrance to make sure there was no lift for the delivery partner.” Goyal said that when he went to the third floor via the stairs, he found out that delivery partners could not enter the mall and had to wait on the stairs to receive the order.

Also received valuable feedback

“I had fun with my fellow delivery partners and also got valuable feedback from them,” the Zomato CEO said, adding that he was finally able to get inside to collect the order after the security guards on the staircase moved aside.
