5 dumpers illegally carrying sand caught in Hailakandi

Hailakandi (Assam): The Helakandi Forest Department is running a campaign against dumpers carrying stones and sand illegally. In a recent operation, five dumpers illegally carrying stone and sand have been seized.

Forest department sources today said that a forest department team led by Hailakandi District Forest Officer Akhil Dutta illegally removed five trucks (AS-24-6228, AS-24S) loaded with sand and stones from different places in Hailakandi last night. 3439, AS-24AC-3368, AS-11DC-6066 and AS-11EC-0368) dumpers were seized.

Hailakandi Forest Officer has said that the dumper reached Hailakandi from Cachar district without valid documents. The Hailakandi Forest Officer said that more than two lakh rupees as government revenue was stolen through the seized dumpers full of stone and sand. The forest department has registered an FIR in this regard.
