
A 34-year-old woman, Anila Raveendran from Anchalummoodu, was arrested on Friday in Kollam, Kerala, while attempting to smuggle the synthetic drug MDMA from Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The arrest was made after a car chase involving the Sakthikulangara police and the Kollam City Police District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF).
Car Chase Leads to Seizure of 90 Grams of MDMA
Police tried to stop Anila’s car near the Neendakara bridge, but she fled. After being intercepted, a search of the vehicle uncovered 50 grams of MDMA. A subsequent medical examination revealed an additional 40 grams hidden in her private parts.
In total, 90 grams of MDMA were seized and her car was confiscated as part of the investigation.
Repeat Offender Supplying Drugs to Students
Authorities stated that the woman was smuggling MDMA to distribute it among school and college students in Kollam city. She reportedly has a history of drug trafficking and was involved in a previous MDMA smuggling case.

Earlier this week, Mangaluru police made headlines by seizing 37.87 kg of MDMA, valued at ₹75 crore, in what is being termed Karnataka’s largest drug network bust.
