The Special Investigation Team of the Assam Police has formally filed a comprehensive chargesheet regarding the mysterious death of celebrated Assamese singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore The investigating officials submitted a massive document comprising nearly three thousand and five hundred pages to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Guwahati on Friday marking a significant turn in the high profile case. This development comes nearly three months after the musical icon was found dead under suspicious circumstances while swimming in the sea during his visit to the Southeast Asian nation for the North East India Festival. The SIT led by Special Director General of Police Munna Prasad Gupta arrived at the court premises with the extensive case files packed in four large trunks indicating the depth of the investigation which included examining over three hundred witnesses.

The chargesheet has levelled serious accusations of murder against four primary individuals who were closely associated with the singer during his final trip The accused include Shyamkanu Mahanta who was the chief organiser of the festival alongside Zubeens manager Siddhartha Sharma and band members Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprava Mahanta. These individuals now face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for their alleged involvement in the crime that the Assam Chief Minister described as a plain and simple murder. In addition to the murder charges the police have also implicated the singers cousin and suspended police officer Sandipan Garg who has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder while two personal security officers face allegations of criminal breach of trust for financial irregularities.

The investigation reveals a complex narrative that contradicts the initial preliminary findings of the Singapore authorities who had ruled out foul play in the immediate aftermath of the drowning incident on September 19. While the foreign probe suggested an accidental death the Assam government insisted on a deeper conspiracy and formed the special team to uncover the truth behind the tragedy. State officials claimed that the evidence gathered independently by the Indian investigators points to a premeditated act rather than a simple mishap. The filing of this chargesheet effectively moves the battle to the courtroom where the prosecution will rely on forensic reports digital evidence and witness testimonies to prove that the beloved artists death was a calculated elimination by his own inner circle.
