
A serious incident occurred in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday during Ram Navami celebrations. Some youths reportedly climbed the gate of the Ghazi Miyan Dargah in the Sikandra area under Bahria police station limits and raised slogans while waving saffron flags. The event took place amidst multiple Ram Navami processions in the region.
Police Responded Immediately
According to officials, the local police arrived at the scene quickly and removed the individuals from the premises. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ganga Nagar), Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, confirmed the action and stated that the dargah is a shared place of worship for both Hindus and Muslims who visit to offer chaadar.
Legal and Departmental Action Underway
DCP Gunawat informed that an investigation is ongoing and legal proceedings are being pursued against those involved. The police are also taking disciplinary action against officers found negligent during the incident.
He emphasized that peace has been restored in the area and that firm steps will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt communal harmony.
