Vitiligo Diet Restrictions: Having white patches on your skin or body can impact your appearance, however, taking care of your food habits and diet can help you avoid Vitiligo.

Food to Avoid: You must have noticed that some people have white patches on their skin which in scientific terms is called Vitiligo. It is a type of skin disorder that alters the color of the skin. Some areas of the skin is damaged and changes to a light color, if someone has vitiligo in  the hair, their hair color also alters in that case. This happens when the Melanocytes in the skin damages the immune system of the body. Melanocytes are those skin cells that produce melanin. It is that chemical that provides our body with color and pigmentation.

How does Vitiligo Spread: Vitiligo starts with a small impact on the skin which eventually spreads over a span of time. It usually is common in body parts like hands, arms, legs and face. However, it can start from anywhere at any time which includes mucous membranes like nose, mouth, ears and eyes.

Sometimes the big patches tend to grow more and more, but the patch stays in the same area for years. The smaller patches tend to not change and alter that much, this is because some areas of the skin may lose pigment but they can be restored. The disorder varies from person to person, some have bigger patches whereas some have very little skin alteration.
