Vikram and Mohanlal’s Films Clash at Box Office: Actor Shares Wife’s Adorable Dilemma

March 27 saw the release of two major South Indian films—Veera Dheera Sooran, starring Vikram, and L2 Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal. The simultaneous release created a buzz across fans of both Tamil and Malayalam cinema.

While promoting Veera Dheera Sooran in Kerala, Vikram shared a personal and humorous anecdote about his wife, Shailaja Balakrishnan, who happens to be an avid Mohanlal admirer.

Vikram’s Wife Is a Bigger Mohanlal Fan

During the event, Vikram candidly said, “I am a huge fan of Lalettan, but my wife is a bigger fan than me. Whatever I do, even if it's very good, she’ll always say, ‘Mohanlal does it better.’”

He recounted a light-hearted moment at home where he asked Shailaja which film she would watch first on release day. Her response? She couldn't decide and chose to watch both Veera Dheera Sooran and L2 Empuraan.

Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, an action drama directed by SU Arun Kumar, features a strong ensemble cast including Vikram, Suraj, SJ Suryah, Siddique, and Dushara Vijayan. Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Interestingly, Part 1 of the film has not yet begun production, making the release of Part 2 a unique cinematic event.

L2 Empuraan: The Sequel to Lucifer

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2 Empuraan brings back Mohanlal in his iconic role of Khureshi Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally from the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The cast features top names such as Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, and others.

A third installment in the Lucifer series is also planned, although filming has not yet started.
