A special state-wide cleanliness campaign will take place on April 13, ahead of Ambedkar Jayanti. Statues of national heroes and great personalities located in parks and public spaces will be cleaned and decorated. Local residents, government officials, public representatives, and employees will join hands in this symbolic tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.
April 14 Declared Public Holiday
Ambedkar Jayanti, observed on April 14, has already been declared a public holiday in the state. The government aims to use the occasion as a platform to promote Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of justice, equality, and social harmony.
Tributes and Educational Programs Across Districts
On April 14, tribute events will be held across all districts. Officers, public representatives, and government staff will honor Dr. Ambedkar by placing floral garlands on his statues. Additionally, seminars and awareness programs focusing on his life, thoughts, and role in shaping the Indian Constitution will be organized. Students, intellectuals, and members of the general public are being encouraged to participate actively.
State Leadership Ensures Dignified Celebrations
The Chief Secretary has instructed all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to attend these events personally. Officials have been directed to ensure that the programs are conducted with dignity and widespread community engagement.
