During a public address located in the Oval Office, Trump stated, “In my first term, I had it stopped and we’re really going to stop it now because it has been very unfair. Our country from an economic standpoint, a financial standpoint, and a trade standpoint has been ripped off. Considerably. Every country in the world has taken advantage of the US... India has extortionate tariffs... India is so bad that the majority of things you want to sell, you can't sell... By the way, they have agreed to this and now, for the first time, they want to bring their tariffs way down because someone is finally telling them the truth."

Mounting concerns over reciprocal tariffs led to Trump stating that, “Our country has been ripped off by everybody. And that stops now” on his Friday statement.

Now that India realizes the truth, it is possible to reduce the tariffs on American products, “stands exposed.”

India isn’t the only country of concern. The President of the United States also accused China and the EU for high tariffs, calling them "terrible abuser".

According to News18, “There will always be modifications. My supporters feel I am absolutely right on tariffs, and they say I have guts to do so," The President of the United States said that his supporters remain behind him regarding his decision to place reciprocal tariffs.

As it is, Trump has increased tariffs on Mexico, China, and Canada. In other news from last Friday, Trump mentioned the possibility of the US imposing stronger sanctions, tariffs, and other forms of financial punishment against Russia until they come to an agreement with Ukraine for a ceasefire and peace treaty.
