An official confirmed that a tigress was found dead in Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) in Mandla District, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Ravindra Mani Tripathi, the reserve’s field director, informed that the body was found on Friday in Jamun Tola of Kisli range. He noted that there was no visible sign of poaching as all body parts were intact.

The tigress was postmortemed then the body was buried according to NTCA regulations.

“Tripathi also mentioned that an investigation is looking into the cause of death for possible foul play.”
