The war reaches Russia's strategic northern center. How was Ukraine able to hit St. Petersburg
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : With the country's key northern center hit by a substantial drone attack just as global delegates arrived to attend an economic summit, Ukraine has achieved a significant symbolic win against the Kremlin. Ukrainian drones hit energy and military facilities.
Beyond any infrastructure damage caused, the strikes struck a severe symbolic blow against Russian pronouncements of financial solvency and invulnerable security.
The sites of the attacks included the Petersburg oil terminal and Kronstadt's naval facilities. Although drone threats to the city have been escalating since 2024, the latest attack stands out due to its targeting and the precise timing. St. Petersburg governor Alexander Beglov announced that attacks caused damage to the city's infrastructure facilities and resulted in several injuries, but there were no reported fatalities.
