Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Travelers flying through Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport this summer should prepare for significant schedule changes, as the airport is set to cancel 114 flights every day for nearly a month, starting June 15. The move will impact both domestic and international routes, with 74 domestic and 40 international flights being temporarily suspended.
The cancellations are necessary to allow for a major upgrade and re-carpeting of one of the airport's key runways, Runway 28/10. This essential pre-monsoon maintenance work is crucial for ensuring the long-term safety and operational efficiency of one of the world's busiest airports.
For passengers with travel plans during this period, the key takeaway is to be proactive. The airport operator, DIAL, has notified all airlines well in advance, giving them time to adjust their schedules and manage the impact on travelers. Airlines are expected to cancel the affected flights and re-accommodate passengers on other services where possible.
