Jaunpur: Police have arrested an SI (sub-inspector) posted in UP Police in the case of the murder of Taekwondo player Anurag Yadav alias Chhotu (17 years) by cutting his neck with a sword on 30 October in Kabiruddinpur village of Gaurabadshahpur police station area of Jaunpur district. Sub-inspector Rajesh Yadav is a member of the accused family and he was posted as SI in Mawana police station of Meerut district. Rajesh was to get married on 24 November.
In the police investigation, it was found that the inspector had talked to the accused present at the crime scene several times a day before and after the incident. His role in the murder is that of a conspirator. Anurag’s father has filed a case against five people including Laalta Prasad Yadav and his son Ramesh Yadav, SI Rajesh Yadav posted at Mawana police station of Meerut district.
The main accused Ramesh had surrendered in Lucknow.
On the morning of October 30, due to a land dispute, neighbors attacked and killed Taekwondo player Anurag Yadav alias Chhotu by slitting his throat with a sword. Police arrested Laalta Yadav from her house shortly after the incident. The main accused Ramesh Yadav, along with his younger brother, surrendered at Aliganj police station in Lucknow district on October 31.
The inspector was sent to jail.
The Gaurabadshahpur police station in-charge called Rajesh Yadav to the Gaurabadshahpur police station for questioning. The investigation revealed that the day before and after the murder, Inspector Rajesh Yadav had several conversations with the accused on the mobile phone. The investigation found that Anurag Yadav was murdered after a plan. SI Rajesh Yadav was taken into custody at 2:45 pm on Saturday and was challenged under sections 191(3),131,103(2),61(2)(a) BNS, and 7 CLA Act and sent to jail.
Anurag Yadav had won many medals.
Let us tell you that Anurag Yadav alias Chhotu, who was murdered in a land dispute, was a Taekwondo player. Anurag had also won a medal in the Indo Nepal competition held in Chandauli district. He had also won the Taekwondo competition held in Noida. District Magistrate of Jaunpur Dr Dinesh Kumar and SP Jaunpur Dr Ajaypal Sharma reached there as soon as the news of the incident was known. The DM had said on the spot that the land dispute has been going on for the last 40 years. The DM had suspended Halka Lekhpal Jagdish Yadav on the spot itself.
