Sri Lanka A beat India A in Super Over, Register thrilling win in Dambulla
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Sri Lanka A has registered a brilliant win against India A in 4th match of ongoing tri-series. After India scored 266 runs for their opposition, match went into Super Over and Sri Lanka successfully clinch the game from Indian team.
Sri Lanka A has managed to snatch a win from the grip of India A. The two team faced each other in 4th match of ongoing tri-series and after Sri Lanka managed to match Indian score of 266 runs in 2nd innings of the game, the clash went into super over where Sri Lanka gave the target of 17 runs to the Indian team which the men in blue failed to chase.
Starting of the game was the batting first by the Indian team and they opened the innings with Prabhsimran Singh and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who were able to score 11 and 21 runs respectively and following them Ruturaj Gaikwad also managed to contribute 37 runs in the match with Tilak Varma scoring 23 runs in the 1st innings.
Suryansh Shedge was the star of the Indian batting innings who came in to bat in middle order and gave 72 runs off 66 deliveries for the Indian side as the Indian team piled on the score of 265 runs in the first innings of the match.
Mohamed Shiraz and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth were the pick of the bowlers from the Sri Lankan side as they picked up 3 wickets each for their team in the 1st innings of the game, the wickets were backed by the bowling contributions of Sahan Arachchige, Kugathas Mathulan and Wanuja Sahan who grabbed 1 wicket each.
Sadeera Samarawickrama's innings pushed Sri Lanka into the Super Over:
Chasing the target Sri Lanka were led by Niroshan Dickwella and Avishka Fernando who provided them with good start scoring 37 and 22 runs respectively while Vishen Halambage only managed to add 17 runs before going on back to the pavilion.
After a mediocre start for the chase Sadeera Samarawickrama stood out of the crowd with a brilliant knock of 93 runs off 113 deliveries to take the game to the super over. In the super over the hosts set a target of 17 runs to be achieved by the Indian team but with the contribution of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Suryansh Shedge, Indian team failed to chase down the score and Sri Lanka emerged as the winners.
