India's Javelin star Neeraj Chopra will return to competitive action at the Doha Diamond League on June 19.The double Olympic medallist last participated in a competition last year when he finished 8th at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
It is worth mentioning that Neeraj Chopra had sustained a back injury in Tokyo and the same was delaying his comeback. Now, with his recovery he will be aiming for a brilliant show at the Doha Diamond League.
This comeback announcement has been made just a day after the AFI had included his name in the Commonwealth Games 2026 squad. "Neeraj has recovered and he is all set to participate in the next few days. He has requested us to include him and he will be participating in a few meets this month," Adille Sumariwalla, the chief of AFI's selection committee was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Previously, Neeraj Chopra participated at the World Championships in Japan where he failed to finish on the podium. The athlete was eliminated in the finals as he failed to achieve the mark with a throw of 84.93m finishing at 8th position.

Interestingly, Curtis Thompson, Anderson Peters, and Julius Yego would be participating at the Doha Diamond League on 19th June and the Javelin event is scheduled to take off at 11:14 PM IST. Both Julian Weber and the reigning Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem will not be present at the event.
