Sonipat Triple Murder: Inside Flats as Brave Neighbors Killed While Trying to Save Woman from Assailant

In a chilling and brutal incident that has sent shockwaves across Haryana, three people, including a married couple, were brutally murdered inside a residential flat in the TDI City area of Kundli, Sonipat. The horrific incident took place late Sunday night at the BPL flats complex, where an armed assailant hacked the victims to death using an iron rod and a sharp knife, leaving the entire community in absolute shock and terror.
According to police sources, the bloodbath unfolded when a neighbor couple rushed to save a young woman from a violent intruder, only to be butchered themselves in the process.
Screams for Help Attracted Brave Neighbors to the Spot
The terrifying incident occurred around 11:30 PM on Sunday night. The attacker, identified as Brahmprakash—a resident of Jasaur Kheri village in Jhajjar—allegedly forced his way into flat number 1426, occupied by a 32-year-old woman named Swati. Inside the flat, the suspect began misbehaving with her and turned extremely violent.
Hearing Swati’s desperate screams for help, her next-door neighbors, Vijay and his wife Sunita, rushed to her flat without fearing for their own lives. However, their act of bravery quickly turned tragic. Infuriated by their intervention, the attacker picked up an iron rod and a knife, launching a savage and unprovoked attack on all three individuals.
Extreme Brutality Unfolded Inside the Residential Flat
The sheer savagery of the attack left the victims with absolutely no time to defend themselves or escape. The assailant stabbed Vijay repeatedly in the neck, while Sunita was struck so hard on the head with the heavy iron rod that she sustained catastrophic skull injuries.
The attacker did not spare Swati either, inflicting multiple fatal wounds on her. Within minutes, the flat turned into a gruesome crime scene covered in blood, and all three victims succumbed to their grievous injuries right on the spot. By the time other residents of the housing society gathered after hearing the commotion, the killer had already fled the premises.
Police and FSL Teams Rush to Scene; Suspect Nabbed Within Hours
Upon receiving information about the triple murder, senior police officials along with the Crime Branch and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams rushed to the spot. The forensic experts collected critical fingerprint samples and scientific evidence from the crime scene. The bodies were subsequently sent to the Sonipat Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Taking swift action due to the sensitivity of the high-profile case, the Haryana Police formed multiple teams and successfully tracked down and arrested the accused, Brahmprakash, within a few hours of the crime. Authorities are currently interrogating him to uncover the exact motive behind this horrific act of violence.
