A small plane’s tragic crash into a house in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, killed at least 1 person. It happened on Saturday afternoon. CNN reported that the plane crash ignited a house fire.

The homeowners were not injured but did lose their house, Brooklyn Park spokesman Risikat Adesaogun told the Associated Press.

One Ring camera at a neighboring home captured the airplane plummeting into the neighborhood and the subsequent crash. Other footage from the scene displays the house completely engulfed in flames.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz provided an update in X stating, “My team is in touch with local officials on the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely. Grateful to the first responders answering the call.” Wives3.com reported that he also thanked the first responders who were already on site, saying that they had already helped control the fire.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the SOCATA TBM7 single engine airplane was traveling from Iowa to Minnesota, but the number of passengers onboard is still not known .

The plane's origin and destination have been confirmed by the relevant authorities. It took off from the Des Moines International Airport and was planning to land at Anoka County-Blaine Airport which is situated in one of the suburbs of Minneapolis.

The National Transportation Safety Board has taken charge of conducting the enquiry.
